text box background color
by skanchi - Jan 3rd 2006 05:59:31
text box widget background color should have been 'white' instead of
rendering in grey gradient. normally a greyed text box mean it's read-only

libexo additions to gtkrc
by Andrewski - Feb 14th 2005 20:29:31
For libexo apps (e.g. Terminal from os-cillation.de), there is an addition
to the gtkrc:
ExoIconBar::active-item-border-color = "#98BDE2"
ExoIconBar::active-item-fill-color = "#98BDE2"
ExoIconBar::active-item-text-color = "#000000"
ExoIconBar::cursor-item-border-color = "#D8D8D8"
ExoIconBar::cursor-item-fill-color = "#D8D8D8"
ExoIconBar::cursor-item-text-color = "#000000"
I tried to pick some sane colours, but feel free to edit them as you see
fit. I guess you'd have to try out Terminal to see what it's like... but
it's good anyway. ;)

maybe the window border is to thin
by filippo rusconi - Nov 7th 2004 12:16:52
Hello,
I find myself trying to find the sensitive border of the windows that I
want to resize using the mouse... It must be only 4-5 pixels wide.
Sometimes I grapple a bit and I was wondering if it would be possible (and
compatible with the elegance of the theme) to widen it somewhat. Maybe
double its width? Were is this configured ? I may try to configure this
myself.
Cheers,
Filippo

The Metacity theme has to be changed for this. It's no big thing, and I'll
do it :). Regarding your other question, I still have to make up my mind on
how to improve the checked checkboxes and radio buttons. As soon as I come
up with something nice, I'll submit an updated version of g5-ish. It might
take some time, tho.

Your suggestions have been implemented in version 1.8. of the default
branch (GTK1, GTK2 and Metacity branches have been updated too). Hope you
like it.

checkbuttons' visual too dim
by filippo rusconi - Nov 5th 2004 15:47:38
I was wondering if the green visual to indicate that a checkbutton is
checked is not too pale. Sometimes I find myself doubting if a checkbutton
is checked or not.
What do you think about this ? Maybe reinforce somewhat the green (which I
like by the way) so that it is well seen if the checkbox is checked or not
?
Cheers,
Thanks for such a beautiful and functional theme.
Ciao,
Filippo

tab label widget
by filippo rusconi - Nov 1st 2004 14:07:42
Hello,
somehow I came to the conclusion that the label of the tab title should
not get the focus when clicked. The sole action that should be performed is
to show the corresponding notebook page.
What's your opinion ?
Sincerely,
Filippo

Re: tab label widget
by Marcus Petzoldt - Nov 1st 2004 22:11:45
Done! Version 1.7 of g5-ish doesn't draw the focus rectangle on notebook
tabs anymore. The downside of this is that you wont see where the focus is,
when cycling through the controls with the TAB key. But I think, one can
live with that.

theme
by filippo rusconi - Sep 23rd 2004 13:45:44
I'm still thinking this theme is one of the most elegant and functional
I've ever seen. It's months I use it without getting fed up... What an
achievement. Congrats! Thanks, Filippo

KDE/Qt?
by Andrewski - Sep 12th 2004 19:32:04
For those of us who really like this theme AND who enjoy thematic
consistency on their machines, is there any chance of you porting this to
KDE/Qt?

Re: KDE/Qt?
by Marcus Petzoldt - Sep 13th 2004 23:59:57
I don't think so, because I don't use KDE and therefor don't know how to do
it. But I'd give the permission to port g5-ish, to anyone who asks for it
:)

GTK 1.x: Selected text not coloured
by Andrewski - May 16th 2004 19:40:19
The subject line says it all: selected text in textboxes is not coloured in
the GTK 1.x theme like it is in the 2.x theme. Can this be fixed?

Re: GTK 1.x: Selected text not coloured
by Marcus Petzoldt - May 17th 2004 08:13:18
Unfortunately no, this can't be fixed. It's a problem with the usage of
pixmaps as the background for edit fields. You can work around this
behavior by removing the FLAT_BOX image section from the g5-ish-entry style
in the gtkrc.

GTK
by Andrewski - Mar 4th 2004 10:02:13
Which engine does this theme require? When I try to use the GTK one, it
just looks flat and standard.

Re: GTK
by Marcus Petzoldt - Mar 4th 2004 11:12:42
It uses the pixmap engine, and it only supports GTK2 apps. A GTK1 theme
will follow.
