Screenshot About:
The Cyrus Theme should give a professional but dark look and feel to Enlightenment. It is supposed to be nice in behavior as well as in appearance. From month to month it got darker and more weird. A corresponding GTK theme is available at kniebes.de.

[»] Titlebar
by N/A - Feb 6th 2000 17:31:47

Top theme - it keeps getting better. But has anyone else noticed extra letters in the titlebar? Mainly 'A' after some 'L's (ie. LAICQ instead of LICQ). Cheers

I know that problem. And I'm not sure if bladerunner.ttf or fnlib is to blame. Cant' reproduce this problem with other programms, e.g. Gimp using this font. Well, it didn't disturb me that much to change the font.

Fair enough. It looks good anyway. Cheers for the reply.

[»] Kick ass theme
by N/A - Feb 6th 2000 15:24:02

This theme kicks! It is the only one I use because it is so clean and well done. Although a little sound would be nice it is still kick ass as is. One question, what program is at the top of the screenshot that keeps track of your logs. Thanks. - Lift with the legs and not with the back

Hello, the little proggi is called root-tail and does the same as tail but using the root-window. Several ppl. aksed for sound, I don't care of sound at my box at all. Probably that the reason I never compiled E with ESD ;) Maybe in the future. Any suggestions for a place to look for some WAVs?

[»] titlebars
by N/A - Jan 27th 2000 11:24:31

Think you could make middle click once on the title bar shade it and right click bring down the winops menu? Also, is there a version of cyrus where that little thing on the left of the titlebars isn't there? :)

right clicking lowers a window, a feature I donnot want to miss. What little thing exactly do you mean, the button ?

I could very well do w/out the "vampire" logo... the "backmost" layer would make a great bg by itself...

Only other thing I noticed is the background for the 'alt-tab' pop-ups is kinda weird :) Great theme, love it lots!

[»] Older Backgrounds
by N/A - Dec 5th 1999 00:27:10

Are the backgrounds that were once included in older versions of Cyrus still available somewhere? I was particularly attached to the BladeRunner-Esque Cyberspace vignette that was in the last version.

BTW, for what it's worth, I really like this theme, both artistically and functionally. Seems to combine futurism and gothic (or at least my impressions of them) in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Feels just dark and techy enough without going over the top.

Cyrus was the main impetus behind my switch from WindowMaker to Enlightenment..

[»] Button Presses not registering?
by N/A - Nov 19th 1999 14:09:48

With this theme only, my middle mouse button doesnt' register as it should on the title bars of applications. Clicking the middle mouse button should shade the window, yet, it doesn't, it takes two clicks of the middle mouse button to do so, as if it was the regular left mouse button. However, the middle mouse buttons works as it should on the root window, bringing up the correct menu. I assume this is a problem internal to the theme?

Well, just switch on the tooltips, they will show the actions for each button/key...

[»] Re: Button Presses not registering?
      by N/A - Nov 19th 1999 19:25:08

I know what each of the buttons do. What i'm saying is, they don't work like they should in the Cyrus theme. The middle mouse button should toggle the shading of the window, and it does in every other theme, except Cyrus.

I included an own actionclass.cfg, cause I prefer different actions on the mouse buttons than given in the default actionclasses. You can simply delete actionclasses.cfg from the theme-dir and everything works as usual...

[»] Error in desktops.cfg
by N/A - Nov 7th 1999 14:35:47

It says "__USE_ON:DESKTOP 0" instead of "_USE_ON_DESKTOP 0". That keep the background from appearing.

[»] Excellent!
by N/A - Oct 9th 1999 07:29:35

Excellent theme, Markus! It has come a long way since it was first released, and it is now one of my main themes. I use it for my development accounts (black is the color of a programmer *grin*), and my root account. I hope to see you put that awesome graphic talent to use on another theme again some time in the future. The only other theme I currently use is eMac. Keep up the awesome work! :)

[»] Suggestion
by N/A - Oct 7th 1999 02:54:05

Markus, I really like the way cyrus has evolved. I liked it at first, but it's really come along lately and I'm starting to prefer it to Absolute_E (sorry hallvar - I still use your theme at home, tho). Very good job. I have a suggestion for you. One thing that I like about AbsE is how thin the borders are. If you could make the default borders on cyrus thinner I think it would add to the sex appeal of this theme. It might even be nice to have a border type with no borders at all, just the titlebar and some resizing gadgets in the corners. What does everybody else think?? later...

New borders are a nice idea. I guess, I'll have to treat the gimp with it again. I won't change the default borders, I attempted to do so several times, but always I finished new ones, I reverted to the orignal one. But a new border with smaller frames or without will surely come.
