I like it.
by webfiend - Jul 24th 2004 14:08:19
The best themes for me are attractive but unobtrusive. Extremely busy
themes tend to give me a headache after a few hours, but where's the fun
in having a completely drab, blank default layout? The Explorer theme is a
nice compromise between the two extremes. The background image is gorgeous,
with soft lines and gradual transitions that don't jump at you when
switching Workspaces. The only thing I'm not sure about is the blue text
for window titles. But I don't have a better suggestion, so I'm still
going to give this a 9.
Assuming I can get the freshmeat site to cooperate with me :-)

Thank you for the kind words. The overall look of the theme is subtle
shades of yellow (yellow green and/or yellow orange, perhaps). Blue is the
"complementary" color to yellow and gives good contrast without tearing
your eyes up. I have other themes available which don't "burn" the
eyeballs 8-)
Notice how the font size is larger in my themes than in other folk's
themes? I hate squinting while trying to read the menus, don't you?
