[»] Several excellent themes.
by Marcus - Feb 25th 2003 22:52:28

This artist has created a number of
excellent themes lately, and of them all I'd have
to say that I like this one the best. The colors
are complementary and pleasant to look at. The
colors are also consistent enough to use apps
with transparent backgrounds, yet this theme is
not so hard on the eyes as some all-light or
(especially) all-dark dark themes.

The texturing of the background is a nice
touch, and the background is just gorgeous in
general. Obviously, I could do without the URL
on the background, but I suppose an artist has to
get their name out there somehow. :) I'm using a
1280x960 resolution by the way, so I'm looking at
a slightly-distorted scaled image. It still
looks good.

The image on the root menu was well chosen.
For the most part, the "tree" part of the image
falls to the right of most of the words on the
menu, yet to the left of the menu arrows. Thus
the tree seems to be growing up between the words
on the left and the arrows on the right. A few
letters do get chopped off the end of the longer
menu items, though, since the tree and the menu
font are the same color (black).

My main (but still small) complaint is that
the color for selected menu items is a bit too
light, such that you cannot see it near the top
of the root menu. This would be okay if the text
changed color when selected, but it doesn't do
that either. This is a minor problem, but one
which is immediately apparent and kind of
annoying (and easy to fix, of course).

I am uploading a fix and also theming the minitiles which I
    forgot.
Thankyou for your encouraging comments. It makes a difference!
