Poor software

No free documentation, I cannot get examples to work, even examples from
the documentation I paid for.
The init phase when launching jboss is very very long and verbose. Errors
are poorly reported with stange messages and useless (or wrong !)
informations.
Benchmarks I found report the scalability is bad compared to other J2EE
products, and overall performance is poor. Bad integration with popular
developper tools.
I cannot recommend this product !

I use JBoss at work, it works well

I've used WebLogic, JBoss and Enhydra at work as a
Java developer. We've ended up going with JBoss.
Enhydra's J2EE support was still in Alpha (and
had alpha-level bugs). WebLogic is expensive.
JBoss functions well (we've found no serious bugs)
and is free-as-in-freedom and free-as-in-beer.
Having the source meant that we were able to add
our own random seeding routines to the SSL
handler. We were also able to use the source to
help debug our own application.
I would recommend JBoss to anyone thinking of
running a J2EE app server.
