Warning
by Ray - Mar 27th 2006 19:24:25
I used this system to send out some emails to some of my users. There
appears to be a major bug somewhere, as some users ended up getting the
email hundreds of times!
Other than that, top notch ;)

mailing-list.us

Your program seems to be just what I'm looking for. I installed it, for
testing purposes, on a Linux box on my home network, and all seems well.
However, when I installed it at my web host, I can't get past the initial
"admin login screen" I entered admin and test but the same
screen pops back up. If I look at the db with phpmyadmin I can see the
"Site Admin" user IS admin and password IS test. Are there any
permissions that must be set on specific directory/files?

First Glance is Good
by Judis - Sep 9th 2005 12:33:15
Have tested this briefly on an internal box and I think it's quite good.
It's attractive, easy to embed into existing site structure, and
responsive. Having the MySQL database to back-end it gives it good scale
and speed.
Highlights: Multiple distribution lists, captured history of recipients,
easy setup, good subscription controls.
My only issues:
Minor - some spelling mistakes in the automated response letters. Easily
changed thanks to the ease of the system itself.
Medium - There appears to be some sort of search function in the default
display page. This does not seem to work at all. A 'code error' is the
only response.
Wish List Items:
What would make this ideal for my needs would be the ability to:
1 - Display the contents of the emails/newsletters on a templated web
page.
2 - Show the list of potential subscribers and select from there a
sub-selection of candidates for distribution.
