So do I have to buy that library ?
Does anyone succesfully comiled it on macos 10.2 ?

    Yes, it requires Qt.

It is free when used with a free version of Qt.

It should compile unchanged under MacOS/X.

If someone backport it to QT 2.3, which is also available on Win32 (non-commercial), can it then be used for GPL apps on Windows?
I am interested on an free port to windows since I have developed an QScintilla based app (CUTE) on linux, which i like to port to win32.

No. The Qt non-commercial license is incompatible with
        the GPL.
