Probably just sourceforge being a bit sluggish. Please try again later.

[»] Viewquest Technologies (vendor ID 0x733) camera (Prod ID 0x402)
by skiy - Oct 23rd 2001 10:55:57

Hi, thanks for the driver,
I was wondering whether there is any support for
the above camera present in your driver - as a
/dev/video0 link doesn't appear when the driver is
inserted - perhaps I am going about it wrong.

Thanks in advance for any help.
skiy.

    Hi

Please join the spca50x-devs@lists.sourceforge.net mailing list. We need to talk about this as we need information from you to get the Viewquest camera working !

Please contact us on the list!

[»] SPCA50X driver
by antonis - Oct 13th 2001 19:19:52

Hi, I'm trying to use SPCA50X driver with
Intel PC Pro Camera for videoconferencing
(linux 2.4.9). Seems to work fine with gqcam, though every videoconferencing tool I tried
(e.g., vic, ivs, nv) crashes. Any ideas?
Do you know of any v/c tool that might work with SPCA50X ?
Thanks!!!

Hmm... I've had the same problem. I think it is to do with one of three possibilities: firstly, the application may be requesting a resolution the camera doesn't support, which may be curable by padding a smaller image into one the size the application is requesting, secondly it may be trying to mmap the camera not use read() and thirdly it may be a frame rate/synchronization issue.

Unfortunately I'm currently in work (yes, it is Sunday) trying to get a deliverable out. Hopefully I'll have some time next weekend to look into this.

    Hi Satish

Create and share support is very early, and may not work. You are welcome to try, please download the source archive available from the project page, and follow the instructions in the file README

    Thanks for your interest.
