[»] Beautiful looking theme ... but broken
by Raven Morris - Aug 29th 2004 01:00:17

It would be nice if this theme could be fixed, as it looks so nice. The theme does not correctly use widget placements, so maximising a window pushes parts of the window decorations off the screen, and vertical snapping of windows has a very noticeable gap present.

Hmmm ... there's nothing incorrect about "widget placements" - the issue is that to create the BlueCurve look I had to use some transparency tweaks. Unfortunately, the problems with window-snapping/maximising/etc are due to the way IceWM handles this transparency (i.e. it thinks it's part of the window decoration, thus the gap/offset). So if you like the way it looks, you have to accept the way it works ...

Mind you, if you try a recent version of IceWM you'll probably find things have improved somewhat - maximising works pretty well for me, anyway, with 1.2.16.

[»] Awesome theme, but
by Steve - Mar 27th 2004 04:30:18

It draws a black bar across the top of each frame.

I tried it on icewm 1.2.13

Did you read the readme file? :) The problem is that your version of IceWM has not been compiled with the --enable-shaped-decorations flag. You'll have to download the latest version and compile it if you want this to work (but don't let that scare you - it's as easy as "./configure --enable-shaped-decorations && make" and then (as root) "make install")

[»] Wrong corner pictures
by Adam Pribyl - Feb 13th 2004 07:26:27

TrueCurve is a good theme, but I think it has wrongly drawn/placed corner pics for menu and close, because these are partialy hidden when window is maximized.
These pics should not be a part of window frame.
Probably this pic should be divided into
frame?TL and title?J and menuButton.

[»] Clean, lean and mean!
by Alex de Landgraaf - Apr 12th 2003 06:47:10

Just want to thank shellbeach for his work on TrueCurve, imho it's the best icewm theme available! Thats why i've included the theme into the lightGUI version of my distro (morphix.org), and must say i have had quite a number of positive reactions!

All in all, keep up the good work. Contact me if you want a free CD, you simply deserve it :)

I see that you use rox too :)

[»] Yeah
by Guy CLO - Mar 4th 2003 03:33:21

Good job.
As I (still) haven't take time to re-compile my icewm with the ability to have transparent pixels in titlebar, I don't use this theme. But as soon as, I will use it by default!

Out of curiousity, is your distro Debian ?

During the couple years that I used Debian, I found so many of its packages were compiled with horribly simplistic defaults, preventing many common options ("common" in terms of most other distros) being available.

I always had to recompile Debian's icewm to include antialiasing, shaped decorations and one other option I forget now ... annoying !
