[»] I think this is a great idea.
by levhita - May 4th 2003 11:24:14

When Microsoft send a letter to my university, warning us about our illegal installation of Win98, we had to change our systems to win95, and install openoffice instead Microsoft office. the real big problem whit the students of comerce and laws, was..

the apareance

only that, not even the funcionality, or the lose of format on documents, it was the apareance

We need to install linux now.
And give the students a regular interface, sound like a great idea

[»] Evilware Themes
by N/A - Apr 22nd 2001 03:35:42

Although not a perfect emulation of the Evilware 98 desktop (thank God) it makes KDE look anough like Windows 98 that my wife is happy to use it whie she kets used to what Linux can do. Eventually whe'll maker her own, but it's a familiar looking environment for her now. To all those (l)users that complained about a Windows there on a Linux page, you are sadly in search of a life !

[»] Windows 98 theme
by N/A - Nov 23rd 2000 11:30:23

A great theme for Windows users who want to learn Linux without feeling they're using a completely alien interface. I could almost let my granny loose on this. To the "I hate Bill Gates/Windows/Intel" bandwagon-jumpers who wrote in to condemn this theme ... please, get a life. (And I bet you still use Windows to play Quake III/Half-Life/Unreal Tournament.)

AS a newbie in Linux I don't agree: KDE himselg is a great thing - for me (not the only) but the fastest way to get in touch in Linux. For my family, without any DOS, OS/2-knowledge, only Win9x-experience, these theme will be the _only_ way to bring Linux to them (without hours of discussion, nights of education = work for me)

Okay, I'm new to the whole themes thing here in KDE, and fairly pissed that I downloaded this theme. I mean, I was just playing around and all of the sudden, all of my red had icons are gone and replaced with windows ones, an os i was trying to get away from! So if someone would please point me in the direction of a default theme that restores all icons, or something to that effect, i would be quite grateful. Brian ledzepp@gtw.net
