PLEASE NOTE! PROTOTYPE 50.
by GhostDot - Nov 7th 2003 12:11:10
A LOT OF NEW FEATURES HAS BEEN ADDED TO THIS RELEASE - PROTOTYPE 50.
THE CODE SHOULD BE GENERALLY STABLE BUT BE CAREFULL WHEN USING THE
NEW VERSION ON PRODUCTION SYSTEMS!
ALL THE STABLE RELEASES HAD AN ODD VERSION NUMBER SO FAR. THIS RELEASE
BEARS NUMBER 50, THIS IS AND EVEN NUMBER. LAST MAJOR RELEASE WAS
PROTOTYPE 43. EVEN NUMBER 50 MEANS LOTS OF CHANGES AND A LOT OF NEW
CODE. TREAT IS AS A LATE LATE PRE-RELEASE.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!
by GhostDot - Aug 1st 2003 04:44:40
Please use the YoSucker Prototype 35 or later. The older versions contain a
bug that may lead to the loss of messages under specific circumstances
(YoSucker would not check for disk-full when flushing the write cash on the
output file).

Excellent software
by JTRH - Jul 31st 2003 00:17:29
This software helped me when others failed. I changed from Yahoo! Mail to
my own mail server and Yahoo! Mail Sucker helped me transfer all my
messages.

PLEASE NOTE!
by GhostDot - Apr 1st 2003 07:16:14
It is recommended for all users to update to Prototype 29. Yahoo has
recently changed its login procedure, so the older versions most likely no
longer work. Enjoy!

What about Groups.Yahoo.com?
by Soenke J. Peters - May 29th 2002 11:30:00
It would be nice to implement support for Groups.Yahoo.com mailing
lists.
Any plans?

You might want to try this perl utility out.
http://www.lpthe.jussieu.fr/~zeitlin/yahoo2mbox.html
It does Yahoo Groups and nothing else.

Yea, I too was actually in the process of finding another good
POP3 email provider after Yahoo stopped. This program
saved me all the pain of changing emails, thanks a ton and
keep up the good work!

How long will both you rock if Yahoo will notice that you both rock and
will secure the webmail login page with graphical keyword as they protect
their new account registration page from automatical bots? What next in
such case, neural-network based image recognition? Although, why not ... :)

Re: Nice stuff...

Heh, good point. But this not be aa major a problem as you make it out to
be.
The easy around it would bt to popup a window with the graphic and let a
real wet and mushy neural net figure it out. Of course this would mean that
the script couldn't be run in the background, but if login cookies can be
saved and used, even this could be fixed.
The harder way would be to incorporate OCR as suggested. Not a trivial
task, but one that is fun and challenging enough that I think it would
attract lots of bright hackers.
