Installing under RH8.0 / RH9.0

I tried many time to install your fantastic nautilus theme - but it doesn't
work.
I tried the "official" way - via the RH Theme Manager.
It installed the theme under .themes/ but it doesn't show up in the
"symbols" marker.
So I tried your way - installing under .nautilus/themes
It doesn't show either in the "symbols" marker under RH Theme
Manager.
Next try: /usr/share/pixmaps/nautilus.
Same effect.
So I tried to edit gconf directly to use the Snow-Apple theme. After that
restarting nautilus - Changes happen, but not the intended: Now all Icons
in Nautilus are a blank sheet.
I'm giving up. Any hints?

Help, i'm new to Linux...

Hi guys, i'm new to this amazing OS, now i wanted to make my Linux look
like my Mac, so i downloaded this theme and did what you told the other
people asking questions about installing these themes, so i put the theme
into nautilus/themes and chose the theme in the preferences.
But now i only have the folder-symbols in aqua-look and the wallpaper of
the theme in nautilus. I miss the butons and toolbars in Aqua-look. How
come those weren't installed?
As i said before, i never worked with Linux before.
I use RH 8.0

hello,
The button is managed by gtk themes, not nautilus.
Hack the toolbar is a fresh function that I don't know, so for the moment
you will not have an OS X toolbar...

Hm, ok, i mean the borders on the top, these are translucent on the
screenshots, the bar with the red, green and yellow buttons, i don't get
my windows to look like that...
Well, Linux is hard for beginners ;-)

Button and toolbar appearance is managed by gtk themes, not nautilus
themes. I'd recommend the Xliquid GTK+ theme as it seems to have the fewest
bugs. AquaLightBlue and AquaGraphite themes are also available if you want
to try something else or you want your checkboxes to look exactly like they
did. If you want your window manager to look like OSX (with red, yellow,
and green close, minimize, and maximize buttons), try one of the many good
sawfish themes such as Aquafied.
If you want to try the other side, I'd recommend the XinXP theme for
nautilus, the Lunatic theme for sawfish, and the trueblue gtk+ theme.

You've have just to untar the file in ~/.nautilus/themes/

Hi,
I did what Baptiste Mille-Mathias has told me. I went into the theme
preferences to set it and install it. Under the applications and window
border don't have "snow-apple". Even I use install new theme in both area.
it did copy the files to ~.themes/Snow-Apple but still nothing show up.
Don't know where went wrong? Help please..... TIA.

First of all ; crevette=baptiste Mille-Mathias
;-)
This theme is just a Nautilus theme, it set the icons and some colors, no
borders.
this is metacity which manage borders.If you like Aquan, there is an Aqua
theme for Metacity. check it a art.gnome.org

Frist of all, thank you for your kind responce and answers. Maybe I
should ask in another way. How do I get exactly what your demo's look on
my RH 8.0's default window? What the steps did you do to make it look like
that? BTW, out of all the aqua theme yours are my favorate. I have to get
mine to look exactly like yours :-) Cause yours are the closest to OSX in
my opion.

I have looked all over the web and have not been able to find this
Metacity Aqua Theme. I even looked at art.gnome.org and it is no where to
be found there either. Could someone please tell me where I can get this
Aqua Metacity Theme.

Installing theme on RedHat 7.2

I am trying to install this theme using the gnomecc theme manager. When I
install the theme it does not show up in the list of themes avilable. I
have looked in the ~/.themes directory and see that theme was unzipped and
untarred. I have also tried moving the files into a directory named
~/.themes/Snow-Apple/gtk. After moving the files to this diretory I was
able to get the theme to show up when I created a gtkrc file in the same
directory. I am not sure what needs to be included in the gtkrc to get the
theme to display correctly or if it is even necessary to create a gtkrc.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.

great theme. just one thing: why doen's ne1 notice that in osx, unfocused
windows don't turn blue, they just lose the color of the buttons and turn
semi-transparent?

Hello.
This is just a Nautilus theme, not a WM theme. You have to contact the
autor of your WM theme to say your felling.

Sorry, your advice did not work with my system (i386, SuSE 9.0)
I tried:
~/.icons
~./nautilus/themes/
~./opt/grnome/share/themes/
~./opt/grnome/share/icons/
I still do not get the Icon-Theme to be selcted with gnome's
(Icon-)theme-manager.
Any idea?
