About:
GLib is a library containing many useful C routines for things such as trees, hashes, and lists. GLib was previously distributed with the GTK toolkit, but has been split off as of the developers' version 1.1.0.
Release focus: Minor feature enhancements
Changes:
GIO, a VFS API designed to replace GnomeVFS, was added. Local filesystems are supported by default, and the separate gvfs module supports various backend implementations. The GObject class initialization was made thread-safe. The GTest test framework and the GChecksum hash algorithm collection were added. GHash now has iterators. GMarkup, GKeyFile, GAsyncQueue, and GError were enhanced. The included PCRE was updated to 7.6. Many bugs were fixed. Several portability fixes were made. Translations were updated.
