AMaViS (A Mail Virus Scanner) scans e-mail attachments for viruses using third-party virus scanners available for UNIX environments. It resides on a UNIX (Linux) machine and looks through the attached files arriving via e-mail, generates reports when a virus is found and sets the delivery on hold.

Release focus: Initial freshmeat announcement

Changes:
This is a first snapshot release of amavisd, the daemonised version of AMaViS-Per. All improvements added between AMaViS-Perl-10 and AMaViS-Perl-11 are part of amavisd, too -- including milter support. There are two known issues: the test suite (make check) doesn't work, and qmail is not yet supported.
